The Monsanto Fund recently provided a grant of $26,000 to the Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF), which will benefit students at both William Woods University and Westminster College.
The grant will underwrite a $2,000 Monsanto Scholarship at each of the 13 MCF- member schools. These scholarships will be awarded by the member schools on the basis of financial need.
“The Missouri Colleges Fund is very grateful to the Monsanto Fund for this gift,” said Mike Backer, president. “This contribution recognizes the importance of education and the significant impact that an educated workforce has on Missouri’s economy.”
The MCF was formed in 1952 as a non-profit corporation. The MCF mission is to acquire resources to help educate students in its 13 member private liberal arts colleges and universities.
In addition to Westminster College and William Woods University, MCF member schools include: Avila University, Kansas City; Central Methodist University, Fayette; Culver Stockton College, Canton; Drury University and Evangel University, Springfield; Fontbonne University, Maryville University and Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis; Park University, Parkville; and Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar.
