Jaymie Sanders of Moline, Ill., a senior at William Woods University, has been named to the 2006 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
The daughter of Jo E. Smith and Scott Slane, she is majoring in American Sign Language Interpreting.
Sanders was one of 12 William Woods University students selected for Who’s Who, based on being an outstanding campus leader. A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
By being listed in “Who’s Who,” Sanders joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
Sanders has been involved in numerous campus activities. She has been secretary of Student Government, vice president of Hands Up! Club, a member of M.A.D.D., a University Ambassador, a community advisor and a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
