Fulton resident Molly McTaggart, a senior at William Woods University, has been named to the 2005 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
McTaggart, the daughter of Debbie Laughlin of Fulton and Olof McTaggart of Mountain View, is majoring in accounting and business administration.
She was among 13 WWU students selected for Who’s Who, based on being outstanding campus leaders. A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students on the basis of academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
By being listed in “Who’s Who,” she joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
McTaggart is heavily involved on campus. Her activities include the William Woods Strategic Planning Committee; Academic Honors Program; Student Alumni Council; junior and senior class president; President’s Twenty communications chair and treasurer; Order of Omega; Phi Beta Lambda vice president; Student Assembly Finance Committee; University Ambassadors; and accounting, economics and math tutoring.
A member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, she has been president and vice president of finance, as well as a member of the collegiate recruitment information board, chapter relations and standards board and Panhellenic judiciary board.
Throughout college, McTaggart has participated in the Academic Honors Program and has been a Dean’s List student.
Her volunteer activities include Missouri Special Olympics Volunteer, Callaway Country Hospital Volunteer, Blood Drive Volunteer, tutor at Fulton Middle School, and Up ’Til Dawn for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
