Allison McIntosh of Independence, Mo., a senior at William Woods University, has been named to the 2002 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
The daughter of Jim and Michele McIntosh, she was one of nine William Woods University students selected as national outstanding campus leaders.
A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
McIntosh joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
An elementary education major, McIntosh has been on the Dean’s List throughout college and was named Outstanding Junior and an All-American Scholar last year. A member of Chi Omega social sorority, she served as recruitment chair and social chair. In addition, she co-chaired the Campus Activities Board for three years and served as secretary of Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society. She also was a member of President’s Twenty and the Dressage Club.
