Anna Marchesi of Bridgeton, Mo., a senior physical education major at William Woods University, has been named to the 2002 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
The daughter of Frank and Ruth Marchesi, she was one of nine William Woods University students selected as national outstanding campus leaders.
A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
Marchesi joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
While at William Woods, Marchesi has served as Alpha Chi Omega president, Campus Government Association event coordinator, Student Alumni Council president, chair of the Student Assembly and a student athletic trainer. She has been a member of the President’s Twenty, Sports Medicine Club, Little Brother/Little Sister program and the campus government senate.
Marchesi was also recognized as Student Alumni Council Outstanding Junior Student in 2001.
