William Woods University is helping students take learning to the next level with a lesson in leadership from Toni McMurphy, president of Infinite Impact.
McMurphy will speak at WWU at 4 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 6) in the Library Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Infinite Impact, based in St. Louis, is a consulting, coaching and training firm dedicated to improving leadership and coaching in organizations.
As executive coach, facilitator and trainer, McMurphy has spent the last 24 years working with more than 46,000 people in more than 100 organizations, including Citibank, 3M, Honda, Eli Lilly and Godiva Chocolate.
Steve Huenneke, assistant professor of economics, believes it is important for WWU to bring in business professionals so students can understand what it takes in today’s world to be successful leaders.
“Leadership is a very important area of entrepreneurship and decisions must be made under a condition of certainty. You must be able to be confident in yourself so others can have confidence in you too,” he said.
He added, “They will be given the opportunity to learn from the insights that Toni has gathered over the past 20 years working with large corporations. That is very valuable.”
