LeeAnn Knaebel of Jefferson City, Mo., has received a scholarship from Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF) in recognition of her achievements at William Woods University. She is a senior, majoring in middle school education with a minor in mathematics.
Money for the scholarship came from MasterCard, which provided $16,000 for student scholarships on MCF-member campuses. The award is given to graduating seniors who plan to teach math in public schools in Missouri upon graduation.
Knaebel is active on campus. She is a member of President’s Twenty, Alpha Chi Honorary Society, TRI-M (Modern Music masters) and EDU Owls club. She is also a senior class representative for Student Alumni Council and the historian for Kappa Delta Pi International Educational Honor Society.
She also works for WWU as a student supervisor and caller for the University Phonathon and for residential life as a community advisor. During the summer, she volunteers as a counselor and staff member at Turkey Hill Ranch Bible Camp.
Knaebel is also the recipient of the Academic Excellence Award and has been named to the Dean’s List every semester since her freshman year.
