Kansas City Resident Named Outstanding at WWU

Catharine (Cat) Douglass of Kansas City, Mo., a junior at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Junior Award at the university’s co-curricular honors banquet, April 19.


The daughter of Richard and Holly Douglass, she is a graduate of Kearney High School.


The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.


Douglass is Alpha Chi Omega sorority vice president for communications, Woods Wire secretary, a radio DJ and newspaper writer. She is a member of Order of Omega, Student Alumni Council and Campus Crusade for Christ. She is also on the Dean’s List.


Her community service involvement includes volunteering about 10 hours a week as a Young Life Leader for Fulton High School, Up ’Til Dawn fund raising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, many fundraising events CARD-V (Coalition Against Rape and Domestic Violence) and other philanthropic activities.
