Ida Hoffman, a sophomore at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., received the Student Alumni Council Outstanding Sophomore Award at the university’s co-curricular honors banquet, April 21.
The daughter of Margo Hoffmann of Defiance, Mo., she is majoring in communications.
The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.
Hoffman was honored for her involvement in campus organizations and service projects, including President’s 20, University Ambassadors, the Woods Wire treasurer, Circle K co-founder and vice president, Chi Omega sorority executive committee and Lutheran Student Fellowship Group. She is on the Dean’s List, a member of Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honor Society and Alpha Chi Academic Honor Society. She is a staff writer for Echoes from the Woods and hosts a jazz show on the campus radio station.
