Allison Ward, of Hazelwood, Mo., a sophomore at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Sophomore Award at the university’s co-curricular honors banquet, April 23.
She is the daughter of Terry and Linda Ward.
The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.
Ward is a member of the Delta Gamma sorority, holding the positions of vice president and treasurer of Panhellenic. Last year, she received the Outstanding Freshman award for Delta Gamma and received the Lamp of Knowledge, an award given for receiving a 4.0.
She is actively involved in the theatre department, appearing in numerous productions. In addition to her performances, she is involved in Peer Players, Jesters and the theatre honor society, Alpha Psi Omega. She was recently nominated to help start the leadership honor society, Omicron Delta Kappa.
She has taken part in the philanthropy projects, Service for Sight and See-Saw for Sight. During her recent theatre portfolio review, she received the award for outstanding growth.
