Sharree LaMere of Hallsville, a December 2005 graduate of William Woods University, has been named to the 2006 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
The daughter of Loren and Kathy LaMere, she earned her degree in speech/theatre secondary education.
LaMere was one of 12 William Woods University students selected for Who’s Who, based on being an outstanding campus leader. A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
By being listed in “Who’s Who,” LaMere joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
LaMere has been involved in numerous campus activities. She was head community advisor for Jones Hall. She also has been vice president and president of Jesters Club. LaMere is a member of the Alpha Psi Omega theatre fraternity.
She performed in several theatre productions and has also been involved in several other theatre activities, including house manager, stage manager and properties mistress for several WWU productions, master electrician for the WWU production “The Boys Next Door” and sound engineer for the production “Musical Comedy Murders of 1940.”
LaMere also received several awards during her time at WWU, including Outstanding Achievement in Theatre award 2004-05, 2003 certificate of achievement in acting for “Faith County” and 2004 certificate of achievement in technical theatre for stage management.
