Gov. Bob Holden has appointed Carrie McCray of William Woods University to a four-year term on the State Committee of Interpreters. She is the university interpreter and coordinator of the Office of Disability Services at WWU.
McCray, 26, has a bachelor’s degree in interpreting and psychology from William Woods. A resident of Fulton, she was first appointed to the committee in April 2000.
The Missouri State Committee of Interpreters licenses and regulates all interpreters in the state. The board protects the public from incompetence, misconduct, gross negligence, fraud and dishonesty and enforces standards by implementing legislation and administrative rules.
