Former WWU President Honored in Corpus Christi

R.B. “Randy” Cutlip, former president of William Woods University, was honored in Corpus Christi, Texas, recently for his ongoing horticultural/environmental accomplishments and civic achievements.

Cutlip received the Botanical and Community Benefactor Award March 4 at Botanica 2005, Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens & Nature Center’s third annual fund-raiser.

A trustee of the San Antonio-based Amy Shelton McNutt Charitable Trust, Cutlip has steered more than $60,000 in grants to the botanical gardens since 1999, funding Sensory Garden sculpture, parking improvements and a mobile education exhibit. He also serves on the botanical gardens advisory board.

Before moving to Texas, Cutlip was president of William Woods University for 21 years, retiring in 1981 as Lifetime President Emeritus.
