Stacie Bonte, of Fenton, Mo., a junior at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Junior Award at the university’s co-curricular honors banquet, April 23.
She is the daughter of Charlie and Kathy Bonte.
The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.
Bonte is a recipient of the WWU Academic Excellence Award and on the Dean’s List. She is a former president of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and has held the positions of vice president of communications, and chapter relations and standards board.
She is a member of the WWU Owls soccer team, where she has received the AMC Academic All-Conference and NAIA Region V Scholar-Athlete Award.
She is a member of GAMMA (Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol) and Order of Omega, a national Greek honor society. She is also a member of Delta Epsilon Chi business fraternity.
Along with her campus and athletic involvement, Bonte is actively involved in the community. She has volunteered at Presbyterian Manor and Red Cross blood drives, and assisted with canned food, clothing, cereal and school supply drives.
Other types of community service she has been involved in include: Adopt a Family, various fundraisers for the Coalition Against Rape and Domestic Violence (CARDV) and Up ‘til Dawn for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She also was a volunteer fire fighter for Central Callaway Fire Protection District, 2006-07.
