William Woods University faculty and staff donated more than 700 pounds of food to SERVE, a nonprofit social service agency in Fulton, during Wednesday’s annual Thanksgiving luncheon at WWU.

It has been a holiday tradition for several years for WWU employees to donate non-perishable food to needy families, but according to Steve Mallinckrodt, executive director of SERVE, this year’s drive was the biggest ever held at WWU. Previous drives have brought in from 200 to 440 pounds of food.

SERVE Inc. helps achieve the unmet needs of Callaway County. Services include a food pantry, a transportation system, senior volunteer placement, a thrift store, youth mentoring programs and GED classes for individuals in the county.
