Citing a desire to invest in education in the State of Missouri, the Edward Jones Company recently provided a grant of $13,000 to the Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF).
The grant will underwrite a $1,000 Edward Jones Scholarship at each of the 13 MCF member schools. The scholarships will be awarded by the member schools on the basis of financial need.
“Westminster College is very grateful to the Edward Jones Company and the Missouri Colleges Fund for this gift,” said Dr. Fletcher Lamkin, president.
William Woods University President Dr. Jahnae H. Barnett added, “This contribution recognizes the importance of education and the significant impact that an educated workforce has on Missouri’s economy.”
The MCF was formed in 1952 as a non-profit corporation. The MCF Mission is to acquire resources to help educate students in its 13 member private liberal-arts colleges and universities. In central Missouri, members are Central Methodist University, Westminster College and William Woods University.
