Tirza Kroeker of Fulton has joined the university advancement office at William Woods University as director of corporate and foundation relations. She will assist the university in building relationships with corporations and foundations and in raising funds for scholarships, programs and construction and renovation projects.
She comes to William Woods with eight years of fund-raising experience from Rockhurst University in Kansas City. Among her achievements at Rockhurst, Kroeker is proudest of raising the funds needed to transform an old Kroger store into a community center with the mission of extending literacy, safety and recreation to children in the university’s urban neighborhood.
A graduate of Hickman High School in Columbia, Kroeker holds a B.A. in English from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., and a master of education from the University of Missouri.
Her professional background includes employment as a teacher, technical assistance provider, evaluator for state and federal educational programs and retail business manager. She co-authored a book about working with adult learners, which was published in 1993.
