CourtWarming court announced at WWU

University students recently selected their 2013 CourtWarming King Taylor Oestreich of Fulton, Mo., and Queen Katherine Wortmann of
Mexico, Mo.

Members of the court were Ben Struemph of Jefferson City, Mo.,
Naomi Starr of Columbia, Mo., Jacob Harrison of Fulton, Mo., Maddie Bickell of
Eureka, Mo., Marcelo Carreiro of Fulton, Mo., Kisha Black of Jefferson City,
Mo., Shawn Claypool of Jefferson City, Mo., and Kat Berhorst of High Ridge, Mo.
 
Coronation of the court
took place Feb. 14 between the women’s and men’s basketball games against Park
University in the Anderson Arena
of the Helen Stephens Sports Complex.
 
The event marked the
end of William Woods University’s sixth annual CourtWarming Week, a tradition
introduced by the WWU’s Student Alumni Council to encourage school spirit.
 
Other activities
included basketball games featuring teams of faculty, staff and students,
CourtWarming games with the 10 candidates for court participating in silly,
sometimes embarrassing games and a pep rally.
