Michael Palascak, a stand-up comedian who has performed on NBS, CBS, Comedy Central and Fox, will provide a night full of laughs and entertainment at William Woods University.
Palascak will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, in Cutlip Auditorium. The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by WWU’s Campus Activities Board.
His performance venues have included the Late Show with David Letterman, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He has performed at Caesar’s Palace in The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas and he won the Chicago region of Comedy Central’s Open Mic Fight. He has most recently performed on Funny or Die and Conan.
Desiring to perform all forms of comedy, Palascak took sketch and
improve classes at The Second City in Chicago. He then debuted his one-person sketch show, “Pursuing Happiness; a bunch of scenes about people that moved out of their parents’ houses, got real jobs and got married … performed by a guy who didn’t.”
“When searching for some large-scale entertainment events for the spring semester, Campus Activities Board was interested in booking a comedian,” said Shannon Garcia, graduate assistant in the Center for Student Involvement. “We have not had a comedian at William Woods in a couple years so CAB is very exciting to bring Michael to campus.”
She added, “He came highly recommended by the agency we book through because of some of his latest gigs with Comedy Central and Conan. I am looking forward to giving students the opportunity to have some weekend programming and getting in some laughter.”
