Columbia Resident Named Outstanding at WWU

Molly Borgmeyer of Columbia, Mo., a junior at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Junior Award at the university’s co-curricular honors banquet, April 19.


She is the daughter of Les and Ann Borgmeyer.


The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.


Borgmeyer has been Alpha Chi Omega sorority president and College Democrats president. She is Panhellenic Association president, Student Assembly chair and a member of Order of Omega Greek honorary, alcohol policy review board, President’s Twenty, Campus Crusade for Christ, concert and lecture committee, and GAMMA (Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol). She is also on the Dean’s List.


Her community service involvement includes Up ‘Til Dawn fund raising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, organizing a blood drive, working with the CARD-V (Coalition Against Rape and Domestic Violence) crisis line and volunteer training and Sunday school teacher for the Crossing in Columbia. She is also involved in various other philanthropic activities.
