Chatham Resident Named Outstanding at WWU

Sarah Chatham, of Chatham, Ill., a sophomore at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Sophomore Award at the university’s co-curricular honors banquet, April 19.

She is the daughter of Gary & Mary Chatham.

The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.

Chatham is risk management chair and warden for Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Student Alumni Council sophomore class president, University Ambassadors secretary and newspaper photography editor. She has been involved with WWU theatre, dance team, Dance Ovations Dance Company and Campus Crusade for Christ. She is also on the Dean’s List.

Her community service involvement includes being a summer Sunday school teacher, Up ‘Til Dawn fund raising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Little Brother/Little Sister mentor, arts and crafts teacher for vacation bible school, various group camp mission trips, teddy bear drives, cereal drives, school supply drives and various other philanthropic activities.
