Sarah Carter, a senior at William Woods University, has been named to the 2005 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
The daughter of Don and Cheryl Carter of Garden City, Kan., she was one of 13 William Woods University students selected for Who’s Who, based on being an outstanding campus leader.
A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
By being listed in “Who’s Who,” Carter joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
Carter is involved in many campus activities. She is president of Disciples on Campus, vice president of the Philosophy Club, a Campus Ambassador, a Community Advisor and a Leader Scholar.
She is a member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society, president of Sigma Tau Delta English honorary and a member of Kappa Delta Pi education honorary.
Carter also is vice president of the Regional Christian Women’s Fellowship and a Northeast Area Board Member, both for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
