Boonville Resident Chosen as Greek Man of the Year

Adam Million of Boonville, Mo., has been chosen as the Outstanding Greek Man of the Year at William Woods University. He is a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

He was nominated by his chapter’s president on the basis of his contributions to the fraternity and the Greek community at WWU, portraying a positive image of fraternity life, and embodying the ethics and values of the fraternity community as a whole.

The son of Tom Million and Janice Cooper, Million is finishing his last semester of undergraduate study where he is pursuing a bachelor of arts in English with minors in both film studies and sociology.

Million’s first role in Phi Gamma Delta was as pledge educator, a position he held for two years. He developed a handbook specific to his chapter, which was a summary of the values and teachings of Phi Gamma Delta, along with the chapter’s history.

He was then chosen to be corresponding secretary. In this role, he developed a graduate relations program that involved mass mailings, a yearly newsletter and a graduate directory.

As a junior, Million served as chapter treasurer, implementing a strict payment regiment for members to help pay off debts the chapter had accumulated from its chartering. Through prompt payment of member dues and a few successful fundraising projects, he reached his goal of a balanced budget.

Million is currently the fundraising chair while serving on the philanthropy, social and scholarship committees. He has developed a chapter scholarship to promote excellence in academics while giving graduates an opportunity to make contributions.

He has attended the Fiji Leadership Academy twice and represented his chapter at the fraternity’s national convention in 2004. He has been the recipient of his chapter’s Golden-Faulk Award, which is awarded to the member who best exemplifies the fraternity’s five values—service, knowledge, morality, friendship and excellence.

Million’s other activities on campus include Interfraternity Council, Campus Activities Board, Sigma Tau Delta English honorary and Writer’s Ink.
