Biology Major to Publish Research Paper

A junior biology major at William Woods University will soon be a published author. Christy McPherson’s psychology research paper has been accepted for publication in an undergraduate research journal.

The journal, “Explorations in Psychology,” is published by the Mid-South Psychology Conference at Lambuth University in Jackson, Tenn.

A resident of Vista, Calif., McPherson took honors general psychology her freshman year and completed the paper for her required research project. During her sophomore year, her findings were presented at the Mid-South Psychology Conference.

She also gave an oral presentation of the research at WWU’s first annual Undergraduate Research Conference last spring, and took first place. Last summer she worked on revisions and submitted the paper for publication.

McPherson said her goal is to study veterinary medicine after graduating from William Woods. She hopes her research experience will help her get accepted to the school of her choice.
