Benthusen Recognized as Outstanding Sophomore

Marisa BenthusenMarisa Benthusen, of Raymore, Mo., received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Sophomore Award at William Woods University’s recent co-curricular honors banquet.

 


The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.

 

Benthusen is campus activities cardinal cabinet director for Chi Omega sorority. She is also founder and president of the Kindness Connection, public relations chairperson for Up ’Til Dawn for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and a member of the women’s volleyball team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Hands Up! Club, Pre-Med Club and Campus Crusade for Christ.

 

She has volunteered with the Missouri School for the Deaf, the campus recycling program, United Way, Relay for Life and Faith Maternity Care.
