Kristina Baum, a senior at William Woods University, has been named to the 2004 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
The daughter of Tim and Jenny Baum of Bradenton, Fla., she is majoring in political/legal studies, with a minor in history.
Baum was one of 13 William Woods University students selected for Who’s Who, based on being an outstanding campus leader. A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
By her listing in “Who’s Who,” Baum joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
Baum is involved in numerous campus activities, including President’s 20, Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity, Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society, Leader Scholars, community advisor and equestrian team member. She is a member of Delta Gamma sorority and has served as president and vice president of member education. She has been president of Panhellenic.
She served congressional internships with Rep. Dan Miller in 2002 and Rep. Katherine Harris in 2003. She participated in the 2003 Leadership Institute Youth Leadership School, the 2003 College Republicans Convention, the 2003 and 2004 Conservative Political Action Conference and several other conferences.
Baum was the Most Outstanding Junior of Delta Gamma in 2003 and has won several equestrian competitions.
