Banks Outstanding Junior

Barbie Banks, a junior at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., received the Student Alumni Council Outstanding Junior Award at the university’s co-curricular honors banquet, April 21.

The daughter of Chuck and Maryanne Banks of Pevely, Mo., she is majoring in history.

The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.

Banks was honored for her involvement in numerous campus organizations and service projects, including Alpha Chi Omega Panhellenic representative, Panhellenic secretary, Mentor-Mentee participant, Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society, Phi Alpha Delta Pre-law Fraternity, theatre productions, varsity basketball manager, Campus Standards Board, Summer Advantage mentor and community advisor.
