Alpha Chi Omega Takes Top Honors at William Woods University

Alpha Chi Omega sorority and three of its members captured the top awards at the recent Greek Awards Night at William Woods University. The banquet honors chapters and individuals for their achievements within the Greek community and for their leadership.

Molly Borgmeyer of Columbia, Mo., earned the top award as Greek of the Year. Rachel Atchison, of Flora, Ind., was named Outstanding New Member. Jessica Gabrian of O’Fallon, Mo., received the Outstanding Chapter President Award. All three are members of Alpha Chi Omega.

In addition, Alpha Chi Omega received the Outstanding Philanthropy and Service Award for its work with Victims of Domestic Violence and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. Delta Gamma sorority was the runner-up for this award, based on its projects for sight conservation and aid to the blind.

Runners-up for other awards were: Delta Gamma member Courtney Yantes of Plain City, Ohio, Greek of the Year; Chi Omega member Kara Haithcoat of Columbia, Mo., Outstanding New Member, and Chi Omega member Christina Burkholder of Belle, Mo., Outstanding Chapter President.

Top grades and top new member grade point average (GPA) for sororities were attained by the Chi Omega sorority. Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity obtained top grades during the fall of 2006, top new member GPA for fraternities and the most improved chapter GPA. Phi Gamma Delta was recognized for achieving top fraternity grades during the spring semester of 2006.
