Alpha Chi Omega at WWU Raises Money for CARD-V

Alpha Chi Omega sorority at William Woods University recently held its annual philanthropy week, raising more than $1,000 for CARD-V (Coalition Against Rape and Domestic Violence).

CARD-V is a Fulton organization that offers support, aid and shelter for women and children who experience domestic violence.

During Lyre Fest week Feb. 19-22, the sorority also collected personal items, such as shampoo and hairbrushes, for families who go to the CARD-V shelter.

Sororities and fraternities from the William Woods and Westminster campuses paid entry fees to participate in the week’s activities. Events included a banner competition, volleyball tournament, serenade competition and a pageant to select the Lyre Lord.

Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at William Woods was the overall winner of Lyre Fest.
